Awakening Shakti, 2023

'Awakening Shakti' is a work of reclamation, rekindling personal power and identity.
The mountain and the monolith can never be separated. No matter how far you take the stone from the mountain it will always be the mountain.

 

The coiled snake of kundalini, a form of divine feminine energy (Shakti) is thought to be found at the base of the spine, at the base of the monolith, at the base of the mountain. Physical measurements between Yin Tang, Shanzhong and Qihai matching my body are marked with radiating points of light. The statement "I am here" is written onto the stone.
